The project construction sequence is likely to be:
- widening of existing road reserves, construction of new footpaths (where needed) and relocation of services and utilities
- construction of dedicated viaducts and bridges
- construction of track and dedicated light rail corridor
- construction of power and lighting systems
- construction of stations and landscaping.
Following the construction period, the project will enter a testing phase. During this period, the project will test:
- vehicles
- traffic signals and operations
- power supply
- track switches
- system control centre
- real-time passenger information.
